High School Youth Ministry --
News
Welcome! Brian Kirby
St. Stephen’s welcomes our new
youth leader, Brian Kirby!
....
Brian comes to us from the Diocese
of Arizona and is a first year Masters of Divinity student at CDSP in Berkeley.
Widely known for his eclectic sense of humor, colorful hairstyles (it was
most recently blue!) and his deep concern for teen spirituality, Brian
hopes to pursue a career in parish ministry after completing his Divinity
degree.
....
Brian graduated in 1998 from
Grand Canyon University in Phoenix with a joint degree in Human Biology
and Behavioral Science. For the past seven years he worked as a counselor
at Chapel Rock, the Diocese of Arizona summer youth camp. Most recently
he served as “dean” of the camp, a position similar to spiritual director.
He also served as a youth director at St. Luke’s in Prescott and St. Barnabas
on the Desert in Scottsdale. Brian brings with him his commitment
to youth confirmation and the Teens Encounter Christ program.
....
In February 2001, Brian will
assist Gail Greenwell as the adult-in-charge of St. Stephen’s 2nd annual
Teens Encounter Christ weekend. Call Brian to inquire about TEC or
any other St. Stephen’s youth activity. 510-845-2002 or e-mail the_drought@hotmail.com
